Jill Evans Memorial Award

A year ago today our lovely friend and dancer Jill Evans passed away.

A few weeks ago, at the Dance First adult showcase, we were honoured to have Jill's husband, Gordon, present the Jill Evans Memorial Award. An award for someone who is brave, puts themselves out there, and who is kind and inclusive.

Jill will always be our shining light, and I know she would have been over the moon to know the first recipient of her award went to her friend and dance buddy, Jan.

Rest well Jill, knowing that Jan and the rest of your Dance First community will keep dancing for you. We will shine bright and we will do our best to catch those melons.
